Actress Samantha will star opposite Karthik's son in the movie titled Pookadai, directed by Mani Ratnam. Samantha who is the hot property in Tollywood is soon gaining popularity in Kollywood as well. The hot news from the team of "Pookadai" is that Director Mani Ratnam has roped in the actress to play the lead opposite Gautham(Actor Karthik's Son) who is making his debut in this movie. The film genre is expected to be a rural flick set in a village and the movie is expected to go on floors by the first week of February.


Samantha's spokesperson confirmed the news saying that "Yes! Mani Ratnam roped in Samathan for the lead in the film almost a month ago, she will begin shooting for her portions from Feb, and she also went through a screen test before getting finalized for the role."

Now this news puts and end to all the rumours saying that Radha's second daughter, Tulasi and Kamal Haasans daughter Akshara had been approached to play the lead in this movie.
